HANDS-ON RESTORATION OPPORTUNITY & FIELD SESSIONS

The Summit will feature a fantastic variety of offerings beyond the robust sessions and altposters. Want to help a marsh in the heart of DC? Join other attendees to restore Heritage Marsh. Interested in learning about stream restoration in the field or want to experience the local area? Check out the field sessions. You'll need to sign up for these opportunities when you register, so get moving as they're filling up quickly.

 

WORKSHOPS

In addition to outdoors offerings, the Summit will have seven workshops featuring a variety of topics, including career development, blue carbon, community resilience training, improving restoration monitoring, and communicating science via the web. New workshop just added! On Sunday, November 2, from 1:00-5:00 PM, join leaders in marine spatial planning for a workshop, Implementing Marine Spatial Planning: Techniques and Strategies for Practitioners. Seasoned MSP practitioners working at different geographic scales (e.g. local, state, and regional) will describe how they applied specific process, policy, and technical strategies to advance MSP. The workshop is free, but you must register directly with facilitator, Jennifer McCann, oceanplanning4practitioners@etal.uri.edu. Space is limited so reserve your spot today!  

 

TOUR A CUSTOM-MADE OYSTER RESTORATION VESSEL

CBF RV Patricia Campbell credit WilleyThe R/V Patricia Campbell, a state-of-the-art oyster restoration vessel, will be docked at the Summit and available for tours. Commissioned by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the vessel has amazing capabilities designed specifically for oyster restoration. Check the final program for details and make a note to see this amazing craft in person!

REGISTRATION

All attendees, including program participants, sponsors, and exhibitors, must register online via www.cmpinc.net/rae. Registration fees are as follows: Early Bird (available through September 10) - $395, Full Rate - $550, On-site - $575, Student (currently enrolled) - $250, One-day - $250.

 

REGISTRATION WAIVER FOR ON-SITE VOLUNTEERING

Anyone wanting to volunteer for a full day at the Summit in exchange for a waiver of the registration fee can contact Heather Tuckfield at htuckfield@gmail.com. Priority will be given to those volunteers who sign up before September 10. Opportunities will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
