The rocky reefs off the Palos Verdes Peninsula are home to The Bay Foundation’s kelp forest restoration project where they have restored more than 45 acres of barren rock to a healthy and diverse kelp forest ecosystem. Come paddle through and learn about kelp forests, the Point Vicente State Marine Conservation Area, and get the chance to see gray whales as they migrate. After kayaking, hike up the bluff to Nelson’s where you can purchase lunch and enjoy Pacific views. Attendees should bring water, sun protection, and be comfortable with a rocky shore entry to the sea.  Note: This field session is dependent on weather and wave conditions.
