The presenters will share their experiences with experimentation and implementing different techniques in their living shorelines projects and programs. Join us to learn how you can add different elements to your efforts and increase your ability to experiment.

About the presenters:

Dr. Jon Miller is a Research Associate Professor of coastal and ocean engineering in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering and the Davidson Laboratory Assistant Director for Coastal Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. His research addresses a variety of coastal issues, including shoreline changes, storm impacts, ecologically-enhanced shorelines, and nearshore hydrodynamics.

Zach Schang is an environmental specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection -Northwest Florida Aquatic Preserves. His work is focused in the Florida Panhandle and he works with a variety of partners to plan and implement living shorelines and nature-based projects, including the award-winning Project GreenShores.
