Thank you to everyone that participated in 2017! 
 
Because of your efforts, we were able to educate and raise awareness around the cultural, economic, and ecological importance of estuaries around the country. Restore America's Estuaries (RAE), the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association (NERRA), and the Association of National Estuary Programs (ANEP), alongside our many partners and participants, joined forces to make waves and celebrate Valentine's Day through a 3-day "I heart estuaries" campaign.
Thanks to all those who showed their love for estuaries and helped spread the word that protecting estuaries means healthy coastal comunities and economies! Our 2017 #iheartestuaries campaign was a huge success - our message reached 1.2 million users on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!! Below are some of the other highlights:
  • There were 686 posts from 291 unique users using the hashtag #iheartestuaries that reached 1,134,616 users resulting in over 2.4 million impressions on Twitter
  • There were 238 posts from 99 unique users on Facebook using the hashtag #iheartestuaries that reached more than 65,000 users
  • There were 61 posts on Instagram reaching 37,231 users
