Since our founding in 1995, Restore America’s Estuaries (RAE) has been dedicated to the protection and restoration of bays and estuaries as essential resources for our nation. Through programs like the Blue Carbon Initiative, National Estuaries Week, the Living Shorelines Initiative, and the Community-Based Restoration Program, RAE and its alliance members work nationwide to restore our nation’s estuaries back to what they once were. RAE joins with government agencies, corporations, nonprofits, civic organizations, scientists, and local volunteers on restoration projects that make significant impacts. Through RAE’s programs, more than 570 local restoration projects have been funded throughout the United States. These efforts engage community members in the protection of their coastal areas while achieving tangible, meaningful results. However, none of this could be possible without the generosity of our supporters. Partners such as the below are helping us make a real difference in America's communities, and we thank them for their investment and support.
Restore America's Estuaries has a long-standing partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. NOAA's Restoration Center, the only office within NOAA solely devoted to restoring the nation’s coastal habitats, is our leading national partner, sponsoring restoration projects on the East, West, and Gulf coasts. In addition to support of our national Community-Based Restoration program, NOAA has supported our biennial national summit and blue carbon program, along with our communication and education efforts.
