DESCRIPTION:PROVIDENCE\, RI – On Thursday\, September 5\, US Senator Jack Reed will be joined by Providence Mayor Brett Smiley\, US Congressman Gabe Amo\, EPA Reg. 1 Water Division Director Ken Moraff\, and other state and local partners to announce $11.5 million in new EPA funding for clean water and healthy coastal ecosystems in Rhode Island and Massachusetts under EPA’s Southeast New England Program (SNEP). \nThe event will highlight seven Rhode Island organizations receiving $1.5 million in grants for high-priority projects throughout the state\, and will be followed by a walking tour of a nearby restoration site\, York Pond\, which is receiving a $282\,000 grant under the program. \nAt the event\, EPA will also announce $8.75 million in new funding for technical assistance to help communities working on clean water and healthy ecosystems.
