National Estuaries Week Kickoff Reception
Join RAE and our partners to kick off 2024 National Estuaries Week on Monday, September 23 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm hosted at Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar.
This invitation-only reception will kick off a week of recognizing and celebrating the importance of our estuaries, bays, and coasts in our nation’s capital. This event is open to all members of Congress as well as their staff, federal employees, and stakeholders from the nonprofit and for-profit coastal communities.
Starting in 1988 as National Estuaries Day, National Estuaries Week has expanded the festivities in partnership with the Association of National Estuaries Program, the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association, and other organizations prioritizing our coasts’ health. It is an annual celebration and campaign to increase public awareness of estuaries and encourage people to become involved in protecting these important natural resources.
This year, we are proud to join with the National Environmental Education Foundation to highlight projects preserving our coasts taking place during National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28.
