LISCIF Learning Exchanges

LISCIF Annual Learning Exchanges and State-Wide Learning Exchanges

The Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund hosts an Annual Learning Exchange every year. The purpose of the Annual Learning Exchange is to gather organizations and partners in the Long Island Sound region to learn and collaborate with one another. In previous years, the Learning Exchanges included breakout session topics such as “Navigating Steps to Aquaculture Permitting” to “Building a Fundraising Plan.” The breakout sessions, along with panel discussions, help build capacity for organizations and communities serving the Long Island Sound region. Check out the links on the sidebar menu to view resources for Annual Learning Exchanges over the years.

2024 Annual Learning Exchange

Thank you for attending the Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund’s first ever Annual Learning Exchange! It was so great to meet all of you in-person and have everyone in New York and Connecticut network together! We hope you found the breakout sessions informative and were able to take away a few strategies that you can apply to your project or organization. We would like to thank all the speakers from the breakout sessions and those supporting them, along with support from EPA, Long Island Sound Study, CTDEEP, NY & CT Sea Grant, Save the Sound, and CUNY Graduate Center’s Earth and Environmental Sciences for all their support and allowing us the space to gather.

Please take a few minutes to fill out this questionnaire and let us know how next year’s gathering can be improved.

2026 State-Wide Learning Exchanges

The purpose of the State-Wide Learning Exchanges is to focus on hyper-local Long Island Sound organizations and partners to learn and collaborate with one another. In 2026, the theme for the State-Wide Learning Exchanges in Connecticut and New York was “People of the Sound”. The breakout sessions, along with panel discussions, help build capacity for organizations and communities serving the Long Island Sound region.
