Restore America’s Estuaries Renews Partnership with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation

This continued support will fund wetland conservation efforts, educational opportunities for students and volunteer events that remove trash from several coastal regions.

WASHINGTON, DC – Restore America’s Estuaries (RAE) is proud to announce the renewal of our partnership with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation to advance our mutual goals of protecting water and engaging the public in efforts to do so. This partnership will continue building a network of nonprofit partners dedicated to protecting and conserving water resources.

As part of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation’s National Water Stewardship Partnership, RAE, Tampa Bay Watch, the Galveston Bay Foundation, the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay will receive $320,000 in grants to continue administering programs that educate and advocate about the importance of coastal regions.

RAE is deeply grateful for the generous support of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and is excited about all that we have accomplished over the last decade. Together, we have advanced our partnership and developed projects that include:

  • Engaging thousands of students, volunteers, and community members in programs and events in coastal communities throughout the country.
  • Reaching hundreds of thousands of people with messaging about the importance of water quality and the critical role each of us plays in improving it; outreach is via social media, e-newsletters, blogs, and other electronic outreach, in-person and virtual events, and other means.
  • Conducting on-the-ground restoration events in vital coastal areas, protecting and restoring water quality and habitat while providing environmental, economic, and quality-of-life benefits for communities.

“This ongoing agreement underscores The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation’s dedication to fostering a culture of stewardship within our interconnected waterways,” expressed Daniel Hayden, President and CEO of Restore America’s Estuaries. “With this support, RAE and our partners will continue in our joint endeavor of public education, community outreach, and restoring critical ecosystems.”

“Since 2014, we’ve partnered with RAE on efforts to improve habitats and waterways,” said Brian Herrington, president of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation. “This ongoing partnership will enable students, volunteers and communities to both understand the importance of water quality and protect their local and regional water resources.”

This renewed agreement will allow RAE and our partners to continue our mission of forging new partnerships in underserved communities to ensure that all voices are heard as we seek to advance our shared goals for cleaner and healthier waters.
