2026 SNEP Watershed Implementation Grants are Open for Applications!
Letters of Intent are due by 4 p.m. on April 3, 2026
SWIG is open for applications! This year, SNEP Watershed Implementation Grants (SWIG26) will be providing grants up to $250,000 to organizations in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts for projects that foster clean water, healthy ecosystems and robust communities throughout Southeast New England.
SWIG is funded by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 1, through a partnership with Restore America’s Estuaries (RAE). The purpose of SWIG is to provide funding to support the implementation of EPA’s Southeast New England Program (SNEP), and grants must be consistent with the SNEP Strategic Plan.
If your organization is interested in applying for a SWIG26 grant, first download and review the SWIG26 Request for Proposals from the documents list below. We also recommend that you review the descriptions of previously funded SWIG projects elsewhere on this website.
RAE will be hosting an on-line information session for applicants on Wednesday, March 11 at 1 p.m. Click the button below to access the Zoom link.
To apply for a grant, you must first submit a Letter of Intent (LOI). You’ll also need the budget table and budget guidance provided below.
LOIs must be submitted via our on-line portal, accessed by clicking the link below, and must be received by 4 p.m. on April 3, 2026. If your LOI is accepted for further consideration, we’ll request a Full Proposal from you in late April. Awardees will be notified in July, and we expect to have grant agreements in place so that projects can begin by September 1.
All SWIG26 grants must be completed by June 30, 2028. No extensions will be granted.
